Dr. Oren Nahum is a senior academic leader and researcher who operates at the vital intersection of logistics, optimization, and computational technology. He currently holds the positions of Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Chair of the Department of Economics and Logistics at Ashkelon Academic College, where he has been a faculty member since 2017. In addition to his leadership roles at Ashkelon, Dr. Nahum has maintained a long-standing academic presence at Bar-Ilan University, serving as an adjunct lecturer in the Department of Management since 2010.

His academic journey is defined by a deep-seated interest in how mathematical precision can solve logistical complexity. Dr. Nahum earned his Ph.D. in Logistics Management from Bar-Ilan University in 2013, focusing specifically on the optimization of transportation systems. This doctoral work was built upon a multidisciplinary foundation, including a Master’s degree in Logistics Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Logistics. Complementing this expertise, he also holds a B.Sc.T.E. in Computer Science and Technological Education from Tel-Aviv University, a degree that laid the groundwork for his unique ability to translate theoretical models into functional software solutions.

What distinguishes Dr. Nahum’s academic career is the twenty years of hands-on technical experience he gained as a senior programmer at DXC Technology (formerly Hewlett Packard Enterprise). This extensive background in the high-tech industry serves as a powerful engine for his research. By bridging the gap between theoretical logistics and real-world software architecture, he is able to develop and implement sophisticated algorithms for routing problems, multi-objective optimization, and real-time decision-making. His current research interests further extend into the transformative fields of Machine Learning and Data Mining, exploring how these technologies can redefine efficiency in modern supply chains.

As an educator, Dr. Nahum is committed to integrating these advanced technological tools into the classroom. He teaches a diverse range of courses covering information systems, inventory management, and transportation modeling, always aiming to equip his students with both the theoretical knowledge and the practical digital literacy required in today’s economy. Beyond the lecture hall, his professional influence extends to roles such as an academic advisor for RigGoh Inc., where he applies his specialized knowledge to industry-specific challenges.
